What is Organic?

Organic refers to the way that agricultural products are grown and processed. Farms like Aspen Green’s in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains receive USDA Organic Certification by choosing not to use synthetic pesticides, fertilizers, or genetically modified organisms (GMOs).

Organic standards also require operations to use practices that cycle resources, conserve biodiversity, and preserve ecological balance.

Protects soil fertility through crop rotation & natural pest control.

Processing

What does USDA Organic mean?

Organic is a label indicating that an agricultural product has been produced according to the USDA organic standards. The USDA’s National Organic Program (NOP) develops and enforces organic standards for crops, livestock, and agricultural products so that consumers can feel confident purchasing organic goods.

Why should I choose organic products?

Organic products are grown according to sustainable farming methods that protect the environment and reduce harmful pesticides and synthetic chemicals that are not meant for human consumption. For packaged goods like Aspen Green products, Organic Certification also ensures that the products are traced from farm to store to maintain quality.

USDA auditors regularly check organic supply chains, and every organic operation is subject to unannounced inspections and testing in addition to yearly reviews to maintain certification.

Can CBD be USDA Certified Organic?

Yes! Aspen Green CBD products are made from hemp grown on farms that are certified by the USDA, and our processes actually exceed federal safety and compliance requirements.

Our dedication to quality, sustainability, and purity also extends to our ingredient standards. Aspen Green products exclude more than 1,330 ingredients that are banned in the US and European Union to ensure that our products are safe and toxin-free.

How do I know if a product is truly USDA Organic?

The USDA shields and labels assure consumers that the products they buy have gone through a rigorous review process that follows official grade and process standards.

Large-volume buyers like grocery stores, military institutions, restaurants, and even foreign governments trust USDA quality grades and rely on them to make business transactions easier.

How do you earn USDA Organic Certification?

To become USDA-certified organic, a farm must adopt organic practices, submit an application, and submit to an on-site inspection to determine if its operations comply with USDA organic regulations.

To maintain organic certification, the certified organic farm goes through an annual review and inspection process.
